Description

DMEM is a modification of Eagle's MEM medium, with four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. It supports the growth of various mammalian cells. The glucose-free version contains phenol red, no glucose, sodium pyruvate, or glutamine. It can be adjusted for glucose concentration as needed and typically requires the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for use.
