Description

DMEM is an improved version of Eagle's MEM medium, with four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. It supports the growth of various mammalian cells. The low glucose (1g/L glucose) version contains sodium pyruvate and glutamine, but no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. It typically requires the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for use. A phenol red-free version is also available.
