Description

DMEM is a modification of Eagle's MEM medium, with four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. It supports the growth of various mammalian cells. The high glucose (4.5g/L glucose) version contains glutamine and HEPES, but no sodium pyruvate, phenol red, proteins, lipids, or growth factors. It typically requires the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for use.
