Description

DMEM is an improved version of Eagle's MEM medium, with four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. It supports the growth of various mammalian cells. The high glucose (4.5g/L glucose) version contains glutamine, no sodium pyruvate, proteins, lipids, or growth factors. It typically requires the addition of 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for use. A variety of modified versions are available to meet different cell culture needs.
