Human CCL2

Product Code: GFC0009

Description

C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2) is a member of the CC family of chemokines. The biological effects of CCL2 are mediated via the specific G-protein-coupled receptor CCR2 which in turn activates signal transduction pathways leading to monocyte transmigration. CCL2 plays a role in physiological processes such as neurogenesis, neuroprotection, and neurotransmission and has important implications in neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease, in which it is produced during neuroinflammation at the sites of lesions.
