Zoledronic acid is a nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate that inhibits farnesyl diphosphate synthase , thereby preventing protein prenylation and osteoclast-mediated bone resorption . In addition, it has a high affinity for hydroxyapatite which allows it to bind directly to mineralized bone . This product is supplied as the hydrate form of the molecule.
