Cyclopamine is a steroid alkaloid that inhibits the Hedgehog pathway at the point of the pathway activator Smoothened. Cyclopamine binds to the heptahelical bundle of Smoothened, a G protein-coupled receptor, and prevents it from signaling further downstream.
