Description
Hoechst 33258, also known as bisBenzimide H 33258, is a membrane-permeable, fluorescent DNA stain. It is initially found to be cytotoxic against L1210 murine leukemia. Hoechst 33258 can be used to stain DNA, nuclei and chromosomes. It is usually used for flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. Hoechst 33258 can also be used as a living cell marker since it can pass through the cell membrane and bind to living cells.
