Description
Erythropoietin (EPO) from rat is expressed in insect cells. It is a glycoprotein mainly produced by interstitial fibroblasts in the kidneys in response to cellular hypoxia. EPO is the primary regulator factor of erythropoiesis and can promote the survival, proliferation and differentiation of the erythroid progenitors. It is an essential hormone for red blood cell production.
