Description

HEPES is a zwitterionic sulfonic acid buffer effective at pH 6.8 to 8.2. It is widely used in cell culture applications to maintain physiological pH range. HEPES is more effective for maintaining enzyme structure and function at low temperatures because its dissociation decreases as the temperature decreases.

RNAse HEPES can be used to maintain cell lines as a supplement added in cell culture media, to recover purified ribonucleotide, or used for nuclear exteact preparation.
