Description

MTT Based In Vitro Toxicology Assay Kit is used to determine cell number or cell viability by spectrophotometric measuring a function of mitochondrial activity in living cells. MTT solution, dissolved in medium or balanced salt solutions without phenol red, is yellowish in color. MTT is converted to purple formazan crystals when tetrazolium ring is cleaved in living cells by mitochondrial dehydrogenase. Absorbance need be measured at a wavelength of 570 nm.
