Neomycin Trisulfate, produced by Streptomyces, can cause miscoding and inhibiting initiation and elongation during protein synthesis of bacteria. It can be used as a selection agent for cells with the neo selectable marker genes. The antimicrobial spectrum of Neomycin Trisulfate includes both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
