Description

DMEM/F-12 is a 1:1 mixture of DMEM and Ham's F-12 medium. This formulation combines DMEM's high concentrations of glucose, vitamins and amino acids with Ham's F-12's additional components. Since this medium does not contain proteins, lipids, or growth factors, DMEM/F-12 usually requires supplementation with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

HEPES can help maintain pH level during cell culture.

Sodium pyruvate plays a role of carbon substitute in culture medium and participates in cell nutrition metabolism.
