Description

Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM), a kind of medium containing various amino acids and glucose based on Basal Medium Eagle (BME) and Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) medium, is the most broadly suitable medium for many types of cells. DMEM can be divided into high glucose type and low glucose type. DMEM containing high glucose is optimal for cultivation of fast growth and difficult to attach tumor cells.

HEPES can help maintain pH level during cell culture.

Sodium pyruvate plays a role of carbon substitute in culture medium and participates in cell nutrition metabolism.
