Specificity

Reacts with multiple isoforms of human FGFR2 although it shows a marked preference for human FGFR2 (IIIb) isoforms in some assays as described below. In direct ELISAs, displays a three-fold preference for FGFR2 (IIIb) isoforms over (IIIc) isoforms. Shows approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) FGFR2 isoforms and no cross-reactivity with any isoforms of recombinant human (rh) FGFR1 or rhFGFR3. In Western blots, shows approximately 25% cross-reactivity with rhFGFR2 (IIIc) isoforms, 100% cross-reactivity with all isoforms of rmFGFR2 and no cross-reactivity with any isoforms of rhFGFRI, rhFGFR3, or rhFGFR4. Neutralizes the bioactivity of rhFGFR2 (IIIb) isoforms.
