Description

VISTA (V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation), also known as platelet receptor Gi24, is a member of the Ig superfamily and is a transmembrane molecule expressed in bone, on embryonic stem cells (ESCs), and on tumor cell surfaces. Gi24 interacts with BMP-4 to enhance BMP signaling and the transition from an undifferentiated to a differentiated state; and promotes the expression and activity of MT1-MMP and serves as a substrate for MT1-MMP.
