Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline (D-PBS) is a balanced salt solution used to maintain cells in a physiological pH range and provide salt ions for osmoregulation. D-PBS can be used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as maintenance of cells in a CO₂ environment for a short-term, diluting, washing and transporting cells, and preparing reagents.
