Insulin-Transferrin-Sodium Selenite (ITS) Medium Supplement contains 0.5 mg/mL human transferrin, 1.0 mg/mL recombinant human insulin and 0.67 μg/mL sodium selenite. Insulin can promote the uptake of amino acids and glucose. Transferrin can bound to iron to nourish cultured cells. Sodium Selenite is an essential trace element. ITS is designed as a medium supplement used with sodium pyruvate for serum-free cell culture applications in both complex media, such as DMEM/F-12 and Ham's F-12, and non-complex media, such as RPMI-1640.
This product is supplied as a concentrated solution and needs to be diluted 100 times to obtain the correct amount of supplement.
