Description

Progesterone is a steroid hormone produced by the corpus luteum and secreted by the ovaries. It can induce maturation and secretory activity of the uterine endothelium and suppress ovulation. Progesterone can be used in various cell culture applications, such as to study sterol regulation of cell signaling and gene expression and as an endocytosis inhibitor.
