Tyrode's Solution, a modification of Ringer-Locke's solution, is a salt solution containing magnesium ions, glucose as a source of energy and bicarbonate as a buffer. It is roughly isotonic with interstitial fluid and is widely used in tissue culture, physiological experiments and cell washing.
