Compared to classic Minimum Essential Medium (MEM), which usually need to be supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, advanced MEM can be used in cell culture with reduced FBS supplementation. Advanced MEM is successfully and widely used in the culture of many mammalian cells, such as Vero, PK-15, MDCK, Hep-2 and WI-38 cells.
