Compared to classic Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium/Nutrient Mixture F-12 Ham (DMEM/F-12), which need to be supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, advanced DMEM/F-12 can be used in cell culture with reduced FBS supplementation. Advanced DMEM/F12 are successfully and widely used in the culture of many mammalian cells, such as Vero, Jurkat and SP2 cells.
